Projects where the ideas of workfare or activating social policy are being implemented are becoming more common in Finland. This paper concerns a small scale evaluation of a experiment, where social administration of Lahti municipality employed 34 long-term unemployed with financial resources reserved for living allowance. Only three of employed left the program; however, the experiment is still going on, and because of this, the it is too early to speak about the final results of the programme.
