Terrestrial Laser scanning is a new method for surveying tasks, which allows to acquire easy and fast complex geometric data from buildings, machines, objects etc. Each point is deter-mined by the position (x, y, z) and the intensity (i) of the returning signal. This paper de-scribes the technology and summarizes the actual systems on the market. The accuracy of dif-ferent systems was investigated. The results of the comparisons are presented in a separate chapter
