INDONESIA’S GEOTHERMAL: DEVELOPMENT AND CDM POTENTIAL

Since Indonesia’s oil production continues to slip, Indonesia had found and developed the other sources of energy from its natural resources. Actually, Indonesia has a substantial reserves of natural gas, coal, and geothermal, but the subsidy of oil price has been implication to those energy development. Recently, geothermal potential is to 27 GW or thirty times larger than recent capacity. In this study, we assess geothermal as alternative energy using in Indonesian energy structure. In this study, we estimate the energy development of Indonesia to the year 2050, especially geothermal as one of potential energy of Indonesia to substitute depleting of oil energy.
