Abstract: In the field of manufacturing, the planning of opportunistic preventive maintenance actions adapted to minimise the number of unnecessary interruptions to production remains a major industrial challenge. Indeed, maintenance decisions have to be made in synchronisation with the production demands to eliminate costly unscheduled maintenance shutdowns and to improve productivity as well as quality. To confront this issue, this paper proposes an innovative approach based on the ‘odds algorithm’.
