Purpose. colorectal perforation is a major life-threatening clinical condi-tion that requires emergency surgical intervention. In general peritonitis caused by colorectal perforation still remains a high risk for mortality and morbidity. The aim of this study is to identify clinical characteristics, out-comes and risk factors for patients with colorectal perforation. Methods. From January 1996 to December 2005, 141 patients with colorectal perforation were selected consecutively for this study.
