comprehensive, systematized effort encompassing the academic and private sectors in multidisciplinary research and dedicated to the use of nanotechnology in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and therapy. The program is designed to move basic science discoveries into the development pipeline and eventually into clinical use. As the program approaches the midway point of its five-year funding, NCI is once again assessing the field of cancer nanotechnology to determine the current needs and gaps in this area of research.
