The experimental work on cognitive processes in schizophrenia is critically reviewed with respect to its relevance in understanding schizophrenic symptomatology. Several logical and empirical issues that complicate any comprehensive attempt to relate schizophrenic symptoms and infor-mation processing are discussed.
