Two broiler trials were conducted by Ajinomoto Thailand to test the impact of amino acid (AA) and ME levels on performance of Ross 308 male and female broilers under tropical conditions. We found that lowering ME of diets resulted in an equal or a heavier market weight, a higher breast meat yield, and a reduced fat pad yield, but poorer FCR, when compared to diets with higher ME. The low ME diets also generated more profit for both the whole bird and the cut-up markets than the high ME diets did. Regardless of ME levels, live performance and carcass yields improved linearly when dietary AA increased from 88 % to 110 % of the recommended AA levels by the breeder company.
