In a laboratory session, it is shown that an X-Ray position sensitive detec-tor based on the multi-wire proportional counter design is an effective device for acquiring images produced by ionizing particles. The analog and digital electronics modules required to operate the detector are presented to the stu-dents, along with a description of their working principles. Finally, the data acquisition software and its capabilities are demonstrated, so that the complete detection chain is available and the students may face the main goal, which is: obtaining good quality X-Ray images.
