Abstract — A channel allocation scheme based on the technique of guard channel employing dynamic priority with three queues (DPTQ) is proposed in this paper. DPTQ differs from most of previously proposed schemes in the literature which focused on reducing forced-termination for handoff calls only. It tries to reduce blocking/dropping probabilities for new calls and data calls with tolerable forced-termination probability for the handoff call in wireless networks. This scheme is especially suitable for the operation in a hot spot in which less handoff calls may occur.
