JOURNAL OF CRUSTACEAN BIOLOGY, 27(4): 693, 2007 RAPALELEUPIA, A NEW NAME FOR PARALELEUPIA VONK AND SCHRAM, 2003 (CRUSTACEA: AMPHIPODA: INGOLFIELLIDEA) PREOCCUPIED BY PARALELEUPIA

Vonk and Schram (2003) in their revisison of the ingol-fiellidean amphipods erected a genus Paraleleupia for a portion of the paraphyletic genus Trogloleleupia Rufo, 1974, having as the type-species Trogloleleupia gobabis Griffiths, 1989. Mr. John K. Page of the Zoological Record has pointed out to us that the name is preoccupied by the pselaphine coleopteran subgenus Paraleleupia Jeannel, 1949 (see Newton and Chandler, 1989). In accordance with Article 60 of the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (1999), we propose to replace the preoccupied name Paraleleupia for our ingolfiellid by Rapaleleupia, nomen novum.
