Veksler et al. (2007) have conducted a series of experiments that have led them to conclude that the evolving Skaergaard magma reached a two-liquid field near Middle Zone, much earlier than all previous studies have indicated. This conclusion is based on an incorrect extra-polation of questionable experimental results and is clearly inconsistent with evidence found in the field relations. The nature of late differentiates of the iron-rich Skaergaard magma has been a subject of considerable interest since they were first described by Wager and his co-workers (Wager & Deer, 1939, pp. 209^213; Wager & Brown, 1968, pp. 137^143).
