Western tropical Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, and the equatorial Pacic are known as regions of intense bio-chemical-physical interactions: the Arabian Sea has the largest phytoplankton bloom with seasonal signal, while the equatorial Pacic bloom is perennial with quasi-permanent upwelling.
