Abstract—A new end-to-end seamless mobility man-agement protocol, called Seamless IP diversity-based Generalized Mobility Architecture (SIGMA), which utilizes multi-homing to achieve seamless handover of a mobile host and overcomes a number of performance bottlenecks and security limitations of Mobile IP, has been proposed in the literature. Various performance aspects of SIGMA have been widely studied in the literature using simulation and experimental prototype. Simulation and experimental results are, however, specific to the scenario being studied and cannot be used to generalize the performance of SIGMA.
