A 59-year-old woman was followed-up at our out-patient department (OPD) after an abdominal total hys-terectomy for uterine myomas. Abdominal sonography was performed on September 21, 2005 and showed a cystic lesion measuring 7.4 × 5.5 cm with papillary nod-ules in the left kidney (Fig. 1). An atypical cyst with possible papillary or cystic renal cell carcinoma (RCC) (Bosniak category IV) in the left kidney was our impression. We referred her to our urologic OPD for further evaluation. An abdominal computed tomographic (CT) scan was done on October 28, 2005, and showed an atypical cyst measuring 8.2 × 7.6 × 8.5 cm with pap-illary nodules in the left kidney (Fig. 2).
