A 33-hour field measurement was conducted in two typical campus building clusters located in Guangzhou, China. Thirty measuring points were set and local climate data, air temperature, relative humidity, wind velocity, wind direction, WBGT at the pedestrian-level, ground surface temperature and etc. were measured. The experiment results show the typical property of thermal climate in the hot and humid area of China. The tree-shading, piloti and patio are found to be helpful for outdoor thermal comfort and recommended to be adopted in tropical climate.
