Objectives. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of sandblasting combined with silanization as a surface treatment on the bond strength between fiber posts and resin cement. Methods and materials. Twenty-eight fiber posts were divided into 4 groups (n=7) according to different surface treatments: no pretreatment (as control); sandblasting; silanization; and sandblasting combined with silanization. A two-component dual-cured resin cement was mixed and applied to the posts to produce cylindrical specimens. After polymerization, 5 specimens of each group were sectioned into sticks and subjected to a micro-tensile bond strength test.
