Taiwan is situated on the collision zone between Eurasian Plate and Philippine Sea Plate. Basically, this arc-continent collision is still active from the fact that it is frequent seismic activity and fast crustal movement. Active fault map of Taiwan published by the Central Geological Survey (CGS) shows that there are 42 active faults and suspect active faults in Taiwan Island and some of which are related to earthquake. For earthquake hazard assessment, the CGS proceeded lots of investigation and research on active fault since the Chi-Chi earthquake. In the present report, we will introduce the current and future work on active fault by the CGS and it is hoped that these studies are contributed to earthquake hazard assessment in the futur...
