Abstract: The present paper deals with the design of a single sided Linear Planner Switched Reluctance Motor (LPSRM) with active translator and passive stator.The work presents a complete design of the proposed LSRM by 2-D Finite Element Analysis method (2-D FEA). A detailed analysis of the influence of various geometrical parameters on the force developed by the actuator mainly gives in particular tooth size influence on fixed and mobile parts. The proposed actuator can be used in positioning task for hight precision application.
