Abstract. The respective answers to the question of when the existence of local clone iso-morphisms implies the existence of a global clone isomorphism differ for term clones, polyno-mial clones and centralizer clones of finitary universal algebras. In each of these three cases, the answer is closely related to the similarity type of the algebras considered. 1
