The membranes were developed from a binary dope system consists of cellulose acetate and N- methyl pyrrolidone and fabricated using a dry/wet phase inversion process. The effect of shear rate on cellulose acetate membrane was studied for the separation of H2/N2. N-hexane was used as solvents for solvent exchange process. Pure H2 and N2 were used as test gases in the permeation experiment. Various casting speed were applied which represents different shear in order to investigate the effect of fabrication conditions on the performance of the newly developed membranes.
