Abstract: Log file tracking represents a promising method to investigate the process of learning with hypermedia systems. How do users navigate through software products and how do individual characteristics influence the paths to take? To answer these questions the project CRIMP (Criteria for the Evaluation of Audiovisuals in Multimedia Productions) pursues an experimental approach: to study the learning processes related to the use of hypermedia, students ’ navigation and performance while using four different versions of a software on cell biology are documented individually with log-files.
