Abstract — Large-scale systems of linear equations often use parallel iterative methods to approximate solutions. They also transform (precondition) the given system, making it easier to solve. SPARSKIT contains a wide array of preconditioning and accelerating techniques to choose from depending on system matrix properties. In our earlier work, SPARSKIT, originally written in FORTRAN77, was redesigned into a set of compo-nents based on the Common Component Architecture (CCA) standards, which enable usability and extensibility of the package with novel preconditioners.
