This study evaluates the characteristics of Palestinian oral history by comparing it to Israeli documented history with respect to the causes of the Palestinian refugee problem. This is done by comparing the accounts regarding this problem from Israeli documented history (using the work of Benny Morris, a leading Israeli scholar on this problem) to that of four oral history projects of Palestinians refugees (131 interviewees in total) with regard to 38 localities that were part of the 1948 refugee exodus.
