The paper reports on a peer assisted learning schemes implemented in various forms in electrical engineering programs at the University of South Australia for the past years. The scheme targeted an audience of first and second year engineering students possibly at risk, either academically and culturally or by belonging to the equity groups. The objectives included an increase in the pass ratio, increased educational opportunities, greater student satisfaction with the courses and better integration of the diversified student body.
