Urban renewal is a complex process involving numerous actors and data. In such a process, design and communication tools play an important role. Appropriate visual tools should be able to establish a common language between professionals and between professionals and citizens. However, there are indications that particular representations may also achieve the contrary by creating different perceptions according to the background of the actors. New emerging technologies offer a large variety of visualisation tools that may solve this problem and greatly enrich visualisation and communication possibilities.
