A methodology for fully recovering the acoustic information of the sound field is here presented and its potentiality for enhancing both the sound recording and the auralization processes is remarked. Through the rigorous acoustical interpretation of a commercial quadraphonic coding of audio signals, an advanced intensimetric analysis of coded signals is performed on the basis of the four-vector (sound pressure-particle velocity) description of the sound field.
