Interferometric methods applied to neutral kaon pairs at a φ-factory offer unique possibilities to perform fundamental tests of discrete symmetries, as well as of the basic principles of quantum mechanics. In this paper a general review on neutral kaon interferometry at a φ-factory is given. The most recent results obtained by the KLOE experiment at the DAΦNE e+e − collider, the Frascati φ-factory, are reviewed. A recent proposal for continuing the KLOE physics program (KLOE-2) at an upgraded DAΦNE machine is discussed in this context.
