who were born at Han-Ming Hospital. There were 515 male and 392 female neonates. Abnormal findings on renal ul-trasonography were found in 160 of 907 newborns (17.6%). There were 147 cases of mild hydronephrosis in 160 new-borns; 129 cases resolved spontaneously, and 8 cases persisted or were progressive (5 were mild congenital uretero-pelvic junction stricture, and 3 were vesicoureteral reflux). Of the remaining 13 of 160 newborns who had significant anomalies (including those of the adrenal gland),4 had adrenal hemorrhages, 4 had congenital ureteropelvic junction obstruction, 2 had vesicoureteral reflux (1 was left vesicoureteral reflux with duplication of ureter), 2 had right kidney agenesis, and 1 had suspected polycystic kidney.
