Understanding residents ‟ perceptions helps tourism planners strategically utilize resources to improve resident involvement and, therefore, increase the sustainability of future tourism development. A model to understand these perceptions was created using concepts from the literature. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used to analyze survey data collected from O„ahu residents.
