L’objectif principal de cet article est d’analyser l’impact du programme d’assurance-chômage sur les taux d’entrées et de sorties à l’aide sociale des familles monoparentales au Québec. La banque de données que nous utilisons provient des fichiers administratifs de l’aide sociale au Québec et comprend 11 180 familles monoparentales, la plupart (92 pour cent) dirigées par une femme. Nos résultats démontrent que le resserre-ment des conditions d’admissibilité à l’assurance-chômage engendre une réduction de l’aide, principale-ment pour le groupe plus âgé, ainsi qu’une augmentation des retours à l’aide.
