We measured linear dimensions and evaluated identification criteria in Pacific and American Golden-Plovers (Pluvialisfidva and P. dominica) captured for banding. Most of thefidva sampled were wintering birds in Hawaii, representative ofthe mid-Pacific flyway; additionalfidva nd all dominica were from breeding rounds on the Seward Peninsula, Alaska. The sexes were monomorphic in dominica, and for all practical purposes infidva as well. On average,fulva females had shorter head, bill, and tarsus lengths than males, but at a scale of <1.0 mm for each dimension.
