Cet article a pour but de jeter une lumière sur les influences mutuelles exercées entre Okakura Kakuzo, dit Tenshin (1862-1913), et Sister Nivedita (1866-1911), qui édita les manuscrits du premier lors du séjour indien d’Okakura (1901-02). La confrontation textuelles des passages pertinents des Idéaux de l’Orient (publié en 1904) ou de l’Éveil de l’Orient (manuscrit rédigé en 1902) d’avec les écrits contemporaints de Sister Nivedita nous per-met de comprendre et la manière et la portée de leur collaboration spirituelle et élaboration idéologique.
