The creation of a modern transportation system in any country is not only a func-tion of resource utilization, technology and willpower of the people but also the political economy of the state. While the transport system which evolved in the U.S.A. facilitated the development t of a self-centered economy, the situation in Ghana is different. The geometry of the transport system in ghana was tailored to assist the growth of an external metropolitan economy.
