n recent years, interest in and commitment to the improvement of women’s health have bur-geoned in the United States and around the world.1,2 Over the past twenty-five years in the United States, the women’s advocacy community has suc-cessfully argued for a better appreciation of the health of women and increased understanding of and sen-sitivity about women’s health care needs.
