1. In this paper, we analyze the contribution of utility-sponsored residential energy-efficient lighting programs to reducing carbon dioxide emissions from Brazil’s power sector. We evaluate the costs and benefits of this type of program and conclude that a nationwide effort to substitute 8 million incandescent lamp can lead to about US $ 235 millions in net deferre
