Strong current and large-scale applications are the most important prospect of high Tc superconductors (HTS). The effort on HTS in the last decade, has successfully made HTS to become applicable in engineering. HTS wire and various shapes of textured bulk HTS materials have achieved high critical current densities operated at economic cryogenic temperatures. The present world effort on HTS focus to bring these new millennium materials to electrical engineering where these materials are expected to have innovation with high efficiency and significant energy saving. HTS applications will be reviewed in this paper, especially the HTS materials developed in Australia and the study on their strong current applications. 1
