This paper examines Malaysian counselors ' sense of humor and their use of humor in counseling. Altogether 76 counselors responded in a self-report questionnaire which included the STCI-T<60>. The findings revealed there was no significant difference in the levels of sense of humor between counselors who were aged 40 and above and their younger counterparts. The counselors ' gender was also found to have little correlation with their levels of sense of humor. As expected, counselors with a better sense of humor tended to use humor more often with their clients. Joke and analogy were the favorites among the types of humor used by counselors in Malaysia while none of the counselors indicated using vulgarity in counseling
