As part of its response to an increasing number of part-time students enrolling from around the country along with the notion that previously disadvantaged students have particular learning needs, the University of Namibia has developed distance learning initiatives at regional level that make us of interactive video (videoconferencing) equipment in order to afford these students the opportunity to gain access to higher education from various remote regions of the country.
