A new occurrence of axinite and its chemical composition is reported. A three-dimensional X-ray di-ffraction structure analysis was carried out using 3124 observed structure amplitudes. The refnement converged to R: 0.019, wR: 0.030. The Mg2*, Mn2*, and Fe2 * ions occupy the distorted "Fe " octahedral site; the bond distances and angles are essentially unchanged from tlose reported by Takduchi et al. (1974).
