2 Supplemental Educational Services (SES) is a component of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as reauthorized by the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), and is designed to provide extra academic assistance for eligible children. Students are eligible to receive SES if they are from low-income families and attend Title I schools in their second year of school improvement (i.e., have not made adequate yearly progress or “AYP ” for three or more years), in corrective action, or in restructuring status.
