The formation of compromises is analysed for a multi–agent dynamical model in discrete time. It can be shown that compromising may still lead to a consensus (agreement), even in case communication decreases. Consensus is possible provided the itensity of communication does not decrease “too fast ” and the structure of communication becomes not ‘’too loose”. Interesting examples studied come from opinion dynamics in the social sciences ([2], [3]) and multi–agent coordination in computing and engineering ([1], [4], [5])
