The Fasterholt flora has been sieved out from a fine grained sand bed intercalated in thé two uppermost browncoal seams in the browncoal pit of Carl Nielsen Ltd. near Fasterholt, Jylland, Denmark. Climatic and floristic analyses are made chiefly on the basis of the small plant remains. The results of the analyses indicate that the Fasterholt flora is an arctotertiary flora that has grown imder warm temperate to subtropical climatic conditions on a coastal plain on the border of a large delta. Some of the floristic-climatic analyses applied to the Fasterholt flora have been tested on several fossil floras described from western Siberia and northern Europe and the results show considerable accordance
