Abstract: In recent times the human resources management (HRM) research literature reflected an intensified debate on “where to ” regarding the theory of the discipline and practice thereof by professionals.The requirements for the profession’s role and capabilities are also changing rapidly in attempting to keep up with change, which again impact on trend identification. Suggestions are made as to probable relationships based on theory, which could be of value to the profession, and practitioners alike regarding future practice.
