Objective: Patients with mental disorders are one of the target groups selected for management in the Emergency Medicine Ward (EMW) with the enrolment of psychiatric advanced practice nurses. This study aimed to determine whether the EMW can be efficiently used for the management of patients with mental disorders in terms of length of stay (LOS), admission rate, and re-attendance rate when compared with the medical ward.
