This paper presents a study to determine if there is a correlation between parenting sense of competence and spiritual well-being in mothers. Previous research suggests that spirituality may have an influence on parenting, but this relationship has not been fully investigated. A convenience sample of 204 mothers in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. area with a mean age of 42 was surveyed by a team of 22 social work graduate students. The survey instrument included the Parenting Sense of Competence scale (PSOC) and the Spiritual Well-Being scale (SWB).
