Abstract. This paper provides a review of some fundamental issues of the applications of genetic programming to agent-based computational economics. The issues under review covers four aspects of genetic programming, namely, primitives, semantics, genetic operators, and architecture. The paper surveys the technical issues encoun-tered in each of these four aspects, and some proposed solutions to them.
