One of the most difficult aspects of changing an organization's culture is that managers do not effectively deal with criticism and discipline. This article briefly reviews some of the literature regarding conflict as well as presents a study of how four organizations trained their managers to effectively address conflicts. The results indicate that a variety of management approaches were currently being utilized and that commitments were made by participants to improve their conflict management skills
