An overview on acoustic echo cancellation for conference systems is presented. Design considerations for acoustic echo cancelers used in conference systems are first discussed. As one of the most challenging topics, multichannel acoustic echo cancellation is highlighted. The uniqueness problem is explained that is specific to multichannel echo cancellation, followed by solutions proposed to date. 1
