With the passing of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, and the push toward full inclusion of students with disabilities in the general education classroom, it has become imperative that the issue of bullying and children with disabilities be considered. “According to a 2001 study by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development about 3 in 10 children are affected as bully, victim, or both. However, the knowledge base pertaining to the relationship between bullying and students with disabilities is relatively new and somewhat sparse ” (Flynt & Morton, 2004, p. 330).
